High School

Life is all a test and sometimes we might ask ourselves why things have to happen to us. I wish I could answer that question for all of you I wish I could answer it for myself. But to anyone that is struggling with anything at the moment I would offer up the advice of turning to your Heavenly Father no matter what religion you are he is always there for you. He is eagerly waiting to help you if you would just ask for it! You might think that he doesn't love you because you have neglected him lately he doesn't work that way he always loves you and if you don't think so ask him! I know my problems are minor compared to all of yours and I really haven't been through that much but I can tell you one thing we are all loved. He does not give us anything that we cannot handle we might not be able to handle it alone but he is there for us every step of the way. I hope you all know your father in heaven loves you. I'm not a prophet or a huge authority figure but if I can touch one person and change there life I feel like I have accomplished something.

again? really?

"Everything in life happens for a reason. So when something doesn't go the way you would have planned or thought look for the door that is opening in front of you. Always look at life with a positive outlook because the minute you get down on yourself is when you can be deceived the most. live everything to the fullest and have as much fun as you possibly can and always remember your a daughter of god. "  -McKinsey Veenker

It's amazing how you write something at one time in your life thinking it will be there to help someone else and in the end it turns out it's exactly what you need to hear and it's perfect timing. I wrote the above paragraph to myself last summer and at the end of this last cheer season my coach gave them back to us to read at the time it didn't mean much to me and i just left it in a corner of my room ultimately waiting to be thrown away. Luckily i didn't because the other day i received some new that seemed all to familiar for me. My elbow was hurting as bad as it ever had and it had only really been two weeks of cheer not even that so to the doctor i went the new i received felt all to similar.  If i wanting to be able to live my daily life pain free and the rest of my life as normal as possible cheer would have to stop. at first i was in denial i didn't think that i would have to quit gymnastics the first time and i didn't think i would ever have to go through the heart ache of again having to stop something that i loved again.  But it happened again and today i had to tell my team and coaches that i was done. It was hard i cried a lot and i'm still unsure about everything but i know that there is something better i'm suppose to be doing with my life next year. it doesn't take the pain away but it is reassuring to know everything turned out good the first time and the second time can only be better!

So to all of those struggling with something right now i know there's not really anything anyone can say to make the heart ache stop but i would like to say it's happening for a reason so look for the door(s) opening because a door never closes without another one opening. we just need to look around.

Spring Break 2012

At the start of the week I was begging my parents to please just let us go somewhere for spring break but now that it's coming to a close it didn't turn out bad at all! Last night my mom actually came downstairs and said how about we just skip to summer and I completely agree with her! Anyway not that any of you care but here's what my spring break was like

Saturday: shopping with my brother, dinner at grandma's house, and hanging out with friends
Sunday: church, Easter dinner at grandma and grandpa's
Monday: Sleeping in! (my mom told us the night before that no one was allowed to come out of their rooms before 11:30) haha and pretty much did nothing the rest of the day! So great!
Tuesday: Shopping with my mom, PG Baseball, and then finally saw the vow with Elizabeth
Wednesday: Caleb's Birthday! So we (Hayden, Stockton, Beth, Caleb, Daniel, Beth, Zach) got up early and woke him up and we went to kneaders after that we went to my house and just played outside for a while, then just the older kids went and saw Hunger Games(so good) and later that night we went to this new place called Hang Time and closed the day with a Sonic run (:
Thursday: the baseball began Hayden's team started off a little slow and they lost the first game but Stockton's team won!
Friday: was a very long day! We started off a 9am with Stockton they played 3 games won the first two and lost the last one. Hayden played two games and won both and took the first seed so they got a bye in the first round of bracket play and moved on to Saturday. But the day wasn't over yet McKoy played at 8 and we went to his game they also won and moved on
Saturday: baseball.... Hayden played 3 games and won them all and they won the whole tournament for the third time in a row! McKoy's team took second place! Way to go Irish! We then celebrated at golden corral. And I finished off the day with friends (:

Spring Break 2012 (:

take a guess

go ahead take a guess at how many baseball games I watched today...1...2..3...wrong! SIX! And how long did this take? Oh well I left my home at 10:00am and got home at 10:00pm. Oh the fun you can have when you have two brothers and two cousins all playing in the same tournament. (: Even better news they play again tomorrow (: so I guess all that's left to say is Go Irish!

Senior Year

Sports Med. Interenship
Student Council 2012-2013
Cheer?

my senior list is being checked off slowly and turning out how i'd plan but it's a little scary to think i only have 5 more terms of high school left

The Quiet of the World

When there is too much to do
And never enough time to do it.
When the world expects so much
And i can only give a little.
When life goes by so quickly
That suddenly tomorrow is past:

I stop sometimes
And look around.
I relaize
Life is simple:

In the smell of new rain
In the warmth of the sun.
In the touch of the breeze.
In the eyes of a child.
In the blue of the sky.

And i find joy
In the quiet of the world.

Happy Birthday

To the best dad in the world!!

Sunday, March 4, 2012

you can not go back but you can control what happens now.

I'll apologizes now this post maybe super boring and if you don't want to read it I won't be offended! (:

For 15 years of my life I knew three lifestyles school. gymnastics. sleep(kind of). I would also through eating in there sometimes. Now some people would go crazy doing basically the same thing everyday but I LOVED it! But in march of 2010 my world was flipped upside down. The doctors told me my elbow was messed up to the point where it would no longer be able to keep up with such an active lifestyle. So I had surgery on march 30 and started to try to figure things out. Through all the mess I tried out for the student council and made it! I also ran track and enjoyed that but nothing was more strange than coming home from school and being able to stay home and not hurry and change into a leotard grab some sort of food and run out the door. It was hard I cried a lot and at the time I never thought anything would ever get better! But my testimony grew so much and it was an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. Now even now that's hard to say but I know it happened for a reason. I've tried a lot of things well in high school I would have never had the chance let alone time to do. I tried cheer something I had been against my whole life and I found that you really can't judge a book by it's cover! And never say never. (unless it's for something bad in that case you can say never) But I do have to say it is hard to catch a break considering I go back for surgery on Tuesday I can't tell you how hard it's been to accept the fact that it's happening again and I can't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind a couple times of why I didn't just keep doing gym if I was going to have to have surgery again anyways but the one thing that has helped me through all this craziness the most is the fact that I have to have surgery again because I tried something new I didn't just sit back and say life is over and not do anything I stepped out of my regular comfort zone and did something I thought I never would do! Now do I know what's going to happen next nope and I'm not even going to try and guess because one thing I have learned is that right when you think you know exactly where the pitch is going to be it curves and all of a sudden your on a whole new playing field! So basically what I'm trying to say is if you can learn anything from me it is change is hard and it can be not so fun but try stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something knew because you can't go back in time but you can control what you do with the time you have now!

And of course this post wouldn't be complete without a touch of pintrest.

March 1st

11 years ago today my baby brother was born. I don't remember much about that day besides staying at my grandmas house waiting for the phone to ring to make the announcement that I had a new baby brother

Four years ago today I can remember quite clearly it was a Saturday I had slept in and it was just my mom and I at home my dad and brothers had taken the scouts to the cabin. When I woke up I remembered it was my brothers birthday and I decided to be a good sister and decorate the house with happy birthday signs and number 7's. The day went on and the boys arrived home later in the evening they got all there gear in the house and then my dad ask Stockton if he had told us what had happened to him Stockton obviously had not and what my dad told us next came a very big shock.

he then went on to explain how the snow on the roof of the cabin had not fallen off this year leaving about four to five feet on the roof just waiting to come down. Anyway they had just returned to cabin and Stockton went to walk into the cabin when everything started to shake and there was a big clash and the four feet of snow(mostly ice) fell onto my seven year old brother. Luckily by a miracle everyone was outside and knew exactly what had happened everyone dropped what they were doing and ran to the pile to start undigging my little brother. As my dad explains he felt like minutes were flying by as they tried to reach him calling "were coming Stockton" and "hold on we're almost there" needless to say the reached him in about a minute. And we're able to uncover him with miraculous no injuries or problems. After they had gotten him out and were checking him and the area around him some with bloody hands jackets roped and a lot of boys who five minutes ago were laughing in the snow and now standing in silence not know what to say or do. The day then went on and the trip went on as planned. But something that really touched me was what my brother said when we asked him if he was scared and he said "no because I could hear you calling me and saying you were coming" the words of my seven year old brother have stuck with me for the past few years and I always think to myself when I'm going through a hard time or feel like I'm buried under piles of ice and snow that there's always someone on top yelling my name and saying there coming and don't give up because there almost there!

As I listen to my dad recall the story of what had happened just a few short hours earlier and how this day could be a lot different if everything had not fallen into place some would say it's luck but I don't think anything happens by luck or chance. Everything happens for a reason and we might not know why it is happening but it's for a reason and if you don't live everyday to the fullest you never know what you could have accomplished! And you never know when your not going to be able to get the opportunity. So live life to the fullest!

And always appreciate what you have love you family, friends, enemy's, and anyone else you come in contact with!

a little cheesy but it touched my heart.

My grandpa was at my house tonight and as we were talking. He was telling us about his recent trip to California for my cousin birthday and baptism. As he was telling us about all the things my cousin got for his birthday including a baseball glove, some gift cards, and some toys all material things that what eight year old kid wouldn't love? After his party was over my cousin proceeded to tell my grandpa this was his best birthday ever and he went off to bed. The next day as my grandpa was walking him home from school he again told my grandpa that "it was his best birthday ever and i haven't even gotten the best gift yet!" my grandpa then proceeded to ask well what gift is that? My little just barley eight year old cousin said to my grandpa "the gift of the holy ghost."

This story was a little cheesy but It truly taught me to try and appreciate everything that I have been given and the opportunity I have to be a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.

"never forget our heavenly father is only a prayer away and the holy ghost is only a whisper"

made me think twice.

life is hard and things can seem like they hit rock bottom at times especially in the teenage years. But i've found that's when you discover the most about your self. So embrace it. It sucks and I'm not about to tell you that it's easy and once you embrace it it's fun and you just want trials to happen all the time but once you start looking at the good in things and realizing why this is happening to you it makes it a million times easier to get through the day. and people want to be around and help you more. Never forget your attitude can make or break you. So make it MAKE you!
